Our 400 ci crate motor begins with a Pontiac 400 ci block and a cast iron precision ground crankshaft. When using Pontiac cast iron cylinder heads our 400 ci crate engine is rated at 375 horsepower. If you are looking for even more horsepower then opt to use a set of Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads and take your crate motor to 450 horsepower.
